"The section that the student was working on in class covered solving the quadratic using the perfect square method. Before we could do this, we spent almost an hour covering algebra material that was imperative to understand before working on more advanced quadratics. She has not learned many of the algebra 1 concepts that will allow her to gain an understanding of what is happening in algebra 2. My plan of attack for future sessions will be to do some review before we get to the current material each week, as she needs that base of knowledge. I instructed her to do extra practice on some of the more basic problems that we began the session with. I informed her that as long as she puts in the effort, we will get her to a level that she is at least comfortable with the material."
"Worked with the student on his homework and the pop quiz he had had difficulty with. After we nailed those concepts down, he had no more issues with his homework or his quiz. He should be fairly well prepared for his chapter test on Friday."
"The student began with homework problems from class regarding geometric pair relationships of lines and angles. This will eventually build to introduce the formation of proofs based on theorems and postulates, so I was careful to dig deeper into each assumption he made, so that he would be able to articulate how and why he made certain assumptions in order to equate certain expressions solving for variables and ultimately resolving angle measures. He solved and defended his conclusions well in these problems, and I eventually gave him a physics application problem attempting to tie in geometry."
"We did the student's homework mainly covering implicit differentiation and applications thereof. She said that she has a 79 in the class. I suggested that she buy a book and do practice problems from it. No concerns."
