Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session we covered the cardiac systems including the structure and function, the blood flow, the electrical current, EKG readings, blood pressure and peripheral pressure. She is doing great with the material. Extra practice will be to take a look at the upcoming immunology assignment as well as the cardiac system crossword."
"Today we began review of Chapter 16 in the Science textbook which covers the Earth's atmosphere. We learned about the multiple layers of which the atmosphere is composed and of the unique properties of each of these. We also discussed the ozone layer and greenhouse gases."
"The student has an important cumulative science test coming up. We are doing some extra sessions in the meantime to get her ready. In this session, I helped her study the water cycle, and then reviewed the rock cycle (which we had covered together a few weeks ago). She enjoyed drawing pictures of the water cycle, and was able to spell the vocabulary terms (like sedimentary or igneous) better when I helped her sound them out. I think she is able to spell complicated words, but gets somewhat intimidated by them and assumes she cannot do it. I have encouraged her to sound it out. She remembered a good amount of information from the rock cycle. I quizzed her on some of her vocabulary words. For our next session we will review more vocabulary and also get into information from before I began tutoring her (crickets)."
