Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on associative and commutative properties today. Identify the property in the given expression and identify if the given algebraic statement is true or false. We also practiced solving problems using order of operations."
"We were able to discuss upcoming problems for her stat exam. She sent me some problems and we were able to get through most of them - CLT, vocabulary questions, and a few intense computations."
"The student and I worked on properties of exponents and simplifying algebraic expressions in exponential and radical form. As we progressed through his homework assignment, we reviewed the properties of powers. He has great aptitude for this material, and he would benefit from brushing up on the properties before upcoming assessments. We completed his homework successfully. I left him with my notes and sample problems for his future review."
"We covered exponential growth and decay, and how to manipulate a word problem using keywords to solve. The student's attitude was very understanding and positive. I left her with reviewing and practicing the problems we went over today. She is having the most trouble interpreting the data in word problems, so I included strategies such as thinking logically through the problem and breaking them down. She is showing significant progress at getting better at this as well."
"We reviewed some of the old types of problems that we covered a long time ago to test the student's memory. She did very well and used the practice problems to make a formula sheet. She got the square root problem correct as well, which she used to struggle with so it was a huge improvement!"
"Today I wrote up practice problems based on the student's previous HW and test prep, and we went over them together."
