Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We focused on reviewing volumes and surface areas of triangles, prisms, pyramids, cones, parallelograms, and spheres. The student then worked on her homework assignment, which entailed calculations of volumes/areas of various polygons and utilizing Pythagorean theorem."
"During the session today, I was trying to gauge where the student was in his geometry class. From there, we proceeded to work through Unit 4, starting from the beginning, so that I could have a better understanding of what he truly needs help with. Most of the session was a review, and he seemed to have a good baseline knowledge of congruent triangles, the various theorems, and proofs. What he needs help on is the smaller details that he missed when answering questions. We will be meeting again tomorrow, when I have asked him to show me his previous tests and quizzes, so we can focus more on test strategies, in addition to wrapping up the review."
"The student had one last online test to take for his geometry class. He did well and basically understands the concepts enough to study them on his own."
"The student has her geometry final tomorrow, so we went over her review packet. We targeted those areas she felt she needed to go over again. We completed about half of the packet, and she was confident she would complete the rest on her own."
"Geometry exam review: Parallelograms, mid segments, triangles (isosceles, equilaterals, acute, obtuse). Proofs and review all of the theorems involving proofs. Worked on a few proof problems, as the student was comfortable with everything else."
"The student and I went over chapter 7 section 2 over similar polygons. We went over the section in detail and did a few practice problems, went over his take home quiz, as well as went over his cumulative review over chapters 1-6. I had him write down the two qualities of similar polygons on his recap post-it note."
