Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Session with the student. We went over her review again in preparation for her final she has on Thursday. The material covered: graphing, inequalities, sine, cosine, tangent, sec, csc, cot, horizontal/vertical asymptotes, solving systems of functions, increasing/decreasing intervals, minimums, maximums, etc. I believe she knows the material very well and should ace her final!"
"The session covered most of Chapter 7, including areas between the curves, volumes, arc length, and applications to physics and engineering. Very good progress was made toward the completion of the homework for Chapter 7, and the student made good progress in understanding the material."
"During the first hour, we did the semester review on science since the student has a final exam on that subject tomorrow. He seems to have mastered most subjects except work, energy, and atoms. I asked his mom to go over those topics with him one more time before the test tomorrow. For the last 30 minutes, we went over the semester review for his pre-algebra final which is Friday. He still has a little trouble with calculation and decimal/fraction, but he was able to do most problems by himself."
"The student and I began to practice/prepare for her "Speedies," which start this Friday. (Speedies entail answers 30 math questions in 3 minutes, beginning with more simple addition and subtraction and progressing in difficulty). We also worked on some of her math homework, which focused on fractions. Additionally, we went over some review of multiplication (drawing arrays). We also practiced more difficult addition and subtraction. I left her a writing exercise to complete for our next session on Thursday."
"The student is taking the reading exam on Tuesday and Wednesday. We reviewed the packet of class work he had for the remainder of the week. He seemed to be comfortable with the material. They are working on geometry; 3 dimensional figures such as prisms and pyramids. Once he finished this, I gave him a brief computation quiz, which he completed with only minor mistakes."
