Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today was another good session. We continued on with chapter 6, and came to the end just as we were ending our session. There were only a few exercises that we did today, because they were all pretty time consuming, but very good practice. I made a note and told him which ones I'd like for him to go over again before Tuesday. We didn't practice with the flash cards; he said that he'd figured out a pretty helpful routine for himself while studying with them. I left that portion of it up to him. We'll continue onto chapter 7 on Tuesday."
"The student and tutor reviewed a dialogue ("Pepa & Pili") and reviewed vocabulary and verb conjugations for a number of basic/important verbs. The student has been taking final exams in other classes and has been busy with that, so some significant Spanish review was needed."
"During this session we started reviewing for his final test. Student had two packets that he needed to review. We reviewed the translation of the words and practiced the related sentences. He will continue reviewing and practicing."
"Today we covered the GUSTAR and DOLER verbs (like and hurt). We went over body parts. We also went over breakfast, lunch and dinner foods. We reviewed what we had learned the previous session (basic greetings). They were very good with remembering the things we had previously covered. They were very good about asking questions. I left them with some grammar exercises. They mentioned that next time they want to go over cleaning/household topics (mowing, raking, etc.)."
"Today, student and I worked on the colors and shapes in Spanish. We also talked about the letters in the alphabet, and began making a chart that has a letter with a vocabulary word that starts with that letter. Flash cards labeled in Spanish with shapes, colors, and objects were left with her to practice until our next session."
"The student learned the second half of the characters and practiced them from the beginning, to make sure she remembers the sound and meaning of the character. She did really well! We also went back to tone practices because she found it most difficult to identify the tones while doing spelling practices. She improved as soon as we had practiced together."
