Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on verb conjugations and "estar" with emotions and conditions. I do think we need to spend a little more time on sentences with a conjugated verb and an infinitive (i.e. "Querer+infinitive")."
"We learned a new game in Spanish. We practiced nouns (feminine and masculine). We had a short conversation about her favorite song in Spanish. We need to incorporate more vocabulary gradually. During games, we practiced verb conjugates: Tengo, tienes, Quiero cambiar, quieres cambiar."
"This was the first meeting with the student. We talked generally about what she wants out of the lessons, went over some basic verb conjugations in the present tense, and reviewed some hotel-related vocabulary. I will determine what materials are best for the student based on this session. From now on, we agreed to hold sessions entirely in Spanish as much as possible. We'll also do a combination of exercises and conversation in future sessions."
"We reviewed conjugations of ar, erk and ir verbs, and reviewed the exercises I had given the student for homework. I also drilled him on definitions of new verbs, which he knew very well. We then worked on pronunciation through a reading comprehension paragraph provided in the book. Good session."
"Because the student only had in-class English work today, we instead used this session to review his progress in his other courses and work on his Spanish homework. I am confident that he will achieve his goal, and it does not appear as though he is having problems with any subject in particular. We finished his homework for his Spanish class by the end of the session, so there were no additional problems for him to work on today. I have no concerns following this session."
"The student and I studied an article and discussed it for reading and debate comprehension. She has plenty of homework to turn in on which we can work for two more sessions."
