Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we finished our review of geometry topics that are on the GRE. We started working on basic circle problems then moved on to questions involving multiple shapes and clock-related circle problems. We then worked on coordinate geometry and covered slope, midpoint, the slope intercept form of lines and determining these parameters given different information. I think the student is making good progress with her math; her ability to solve coordinate geometry problems increased after a quick refresher on the concepts and formulas involved. I will be sending her additional practice math problems and some sentence equivalence material that we will go over next time."
"Today we covered Text Completions and Sentence Equivalence and discussed openly some test-taking strategies that may or may not be useful, depending on the situation. We have also identified an area where the student can still improve considerably. In any case, the student has a high aptitude for achieving a very competitive GRE score and the sessions can provide her a regular schedule for practice."
"We began this session by going over some algebra questions that the student had. She is getting stronger with her skills, though we will need to continue to reinforce with some remedial questions. She did very well with circle questions today. I assigned a subset of that chapter. I then introduced fraction concepts (basic operations) and assigned an online problem set. We did some discrete verbal problems together. I am going to assign a very easy online set. She will need to work on her vocabulary."
