Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed science homework and tests -- covering moon phases, unit conversions, and circuits -- to help him prepare for his final next week. I think our session was very helpful."
"Today we started off reading a chapter of the student's science textbook pertaining to the Earth, moon, and sun. Specifically, the chapter touched on elliptical orbits, related durations (days, months, years), eclipse, and spins/axes/revolutions. We studied the difference between lunar and solar eclipses and the days and years as related to the Earth's spin and orbit around the sun. We also learned that the moon spins a full spin in the same time it takes to orbit once around the Earth (27.3 days, or about a month). Then we studied chapters 3 and 4 in the student's social studies textbook, covering the New England colonies and religions. We finished with multiplication of 7-digit decimals and a little reading."
"During this session we discussed the reproductive system as well as the acid-base balance of the body. We discussed the primary vocabulary associated with these systems. The student will be working on a lab next and will let me know if she has any questions. She is a joy to tutor."
