Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I covered the back end of Chapter 1 of her Geometry book. Making progress on proofs,, theorems, and postulates!"
"Finished final review packet, then spent remaining time quizzing over random topics from all review packets."
"We did test corrections for the volumes of solids and Laws of Sines and cosines. We are making good progress, and the student seems to be understanding the material much better!"
"Today's session covered parallel lines and the various angle pairs associated with them. We also looked at mid-segments of a triangle and solved for various segment lengths and angle measures using the definition of mid-segments and parallel lines/angles. We also started covering special right triangles (45-45-90 and 30-60-90) dealing with ratios of the sides. I explained to the student that she would be getting exposure to radicals (square roots) by doing problems with special right triangles."
"The student and I went over her homework, which was on the law of cosines. She didn't have any issues at all with the 3 word problems she did. We spent the remaining time going over past assessment exam problems to help her prepare for the June exam. We went over trig problems involving SOH CAH TOA and angle of depression/elevation word problems. She remembered how to do them very well. We also went over a similar triangle word problem and mean proportional of right triangle problem. Overall, she did an excellent job and showed no signs of struggling with a particular topic."
"We went through the new chapters on biology and geometry to make the student prepared for this week. I explained all the concepts to him and we solved several questions to make sure he understood them. He was able to do most of the questions by himself. He is doing well."
