Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The pupil and I went over a practice math section he had taken. We reviewed some geometry rules he had forgotten, but overall he did really well. The second hour was spent on reading, as we devised strategies that would allow him to increase his speed with the reading section. I recommended he read the passages out of order: first social science, then humanities, natural science, and fiction (since this seemed to be the order of decreasing reading speed). Then I recommended he answer the questions out of order: first the main-idea questions (to get a sense of what the passage is about), then the specific line/paragraph questions (since the amount of re-reading is short and contained), and then the rest."
"The student and I finished preparing for the ACT. We worked on English, science and math. He did a very good job."
"The student did an amazing job with her homework this week. We worked through problems, went over her essay, and talked about how to maximize her performance on Saturday."
