Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I went over the additional types of word problems that might occur on the mathematics section of the test. I placed emphasis on techniques that should be applied to all of the questions, such as identifying what information is given, deciding what can be inferred from information given, identifying what the question is asking for, and developing appropriate methods to solve the problem. Also, I reiterated the importance of using a process of elimination and estimating when appropriate."
"We spent our full session working on exam practice. We started with some timed math practice, and his timing was much better than in our earlier timed work. He finished with time to spare. While he was doing those problems I wrote an algebra problem using some concepts from an earlier section of his book, which help reinforced certain notions. We ended the session by covering some Latin work."
"The student and I continued our work with the exam. We started off the session by working on the quantitative portion of the exam. We took two practice quizzes and he finished both in a timely manner and with a high score. We finished the session by reviewing the last full length exam that the student took. The more and more we review these exams the more evident it becomes to me that the student truly knows almost everything there is to know about this test. We covered a few math topics before ending the session."
