Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Reviewed practice test that the student took during the week. Provided him with some advice in advance of his test this Saturday."
"In our final session, we began by reviewing some of the work we did last session on essay writing. The student wrote out a detailed outline, which we critiqued and strengthened into a top-notch essay (skeleton). Her organizational skills are top notch, but with this added form to apply them to, she should excel on the writing section. After this, we moved to assess her ability to gauge the difficulty levels of questions quickly. She is able to survey a section of the test for the first 3-5 minutes and rank them according to a three point scale of difficulty, something that (especially on the math and science) will go a long way towards getting the highest score possible. Then, we did some time trials on math and science, the two categories where she may be cutting it close on time. Not only did she feel able to answer every question on the entire math section we covered (great news!), she beat the segment well under pace. Science was a bit rougher, where she got more correct if she took more time. This will likely be the same during the test, and we discussed how that should be used to maximize her points, in the event that she is unable to complete the section on time. Very good session. Very good student."
"We went through some math and English review and a practice section, both of which he scored well on I also gave him brief science tips. This was our last session."
