Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we covered the quiz review for his upcoming exam and his quiz on sections 3.5-3.8. The topics we went over were derivatives and inverse functions, chain rule, product rule, u substitution, and trig derivatives. I was disappointed to hear the student hadn't printed a copy of a derivative table, and I hope he does this this week. He had a great handle on algebra this week and it was mostly the calculus rules that he had trouble with. He has a good knowledge of the trig derivatives, but he struggled with providing the correct general formula for product rule, so I think a derivative table or cheat sheet would be helpful. He said he would continue working on the review for the test."
"The student and I worked on limits, as she moves through her final year of high school math. She needs to focus on conceptual idea of limits, and by using the practice problems and some further examples, she seems far more comfortable now. She has a test tomorrow, so hopefully the review will help!"
"We were able to cover almost all of an assignment combining separable differential equations, exponential growth models, and compound interest. The student seemed to understand the processes quickly."
"We went over a few topics about improper integrals. There was a heavy use of graphics using online resources."
"The student worked on Fundamental Theorem of Calculus problems. He worked through a couple of large online assignments."
"During this session, geometric series were again reviewed by the student finishing the rest of the scheduled homework for the same topic."
