"The student learned the use of the past tense in Spanish using the verbs tomar, entrar, comprar, vender, salir, and ir in situations of buying and traveling."
"Preparing for his speaking midterm, the student and I worked on the chapter's vocabulary. I would say a word, and he would have to generate the translation of it on his own. After mastering the vocabulary, I came up with three different speaking quizzes in which he would listen to me tell a story in Spanish, and then would answer the multiple choice questions that I made. He excelled on all three exams, scoring perfectly on the first two and only missing one question on the third. The session was great, and we're confident that he will do well on his test tomorrow."
"The lesson continued today with the student working on the topic of the subjunctive. He continued to complete practice worksheets for this chapter, as well as worksheets that I created in which he had to complete the sentence by deciding if the verb has to be made into the present tense, the subjunctive, or kept in the infinitive. I suggested several ways in which he could work on preparing for the test on his own: studying vocabulary words from the index cards that he created, going over the workbook homework that he has completed, going over notes and reviewing all the work sheets that he completed on the subjunctive during our session. Next, I introduced all of the question words to him as well as the most common questions in which they are used. We also started working on new vocabulary words from the next chapter. These are words related to TV programs. He made flash cards for the words he wasn't familiar with."
