Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We reviewed concepts in conservation of energy and used them to solve a problem involving the work done in a pulley system."
"The student and I reviewed series circuits as well as parallel circuits with capacitors. We also went over the effects of magnetic fields."
"The student has a Physics test coming up on magnetism. I helped him figure out the main equations that he'll need to know, and we made a formula sheet. We also reviewed a bunch of problems from his homework set. The tough thing about magnetism is that there are some tricky concepts in addition to a lot of equations. I took him through most of the concepts like using right hand rule to figure out the directions of force, magnetic field, and velocity, and the way a changing magnetic flux induces a current in a coil. I had him do quite a bit of practice, so I think he has a pretty good understanding of most of the concepts. He should be able to do well on the test if he's careful. I suggested we meet several more times before his final, and he agreed. We'll have some work to do before he's ready, but he's pretty smart when he takes the time and effort to really learn things."
