Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today we covered basic operations with functions: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of functions. She had a basic grasp of the concept. I showed her how to do a problem and we looked at an example from the book. Also, we worked on her homework and reviewed her first test."
"The student and I worked on pre-calculus homework and studying. She is doing well, but we needed to review some of the concepts and skills together."
"The student had new Spanish vocabulary and a homework sheet that he completed for his Spanish class. He also needed help with his pre-calc homework and needed to study for a religion exam so we reviewed these topics as well."
"We covered the basics of trigonometry functions and identities. We worked on a variety of problems, and the student seems to grasp the concepts. I encouraged him to continue practicing to build his confidence. He will solve more problems before our next session, during which we will go over new material covered in his class."
"The student and I continued to discuss methods of evaluating limits and examining the relationship between the value the limit is approaching and the function's vertical asymptote. Furthermore, we continued to work with continuity and piecewise functions. We discussed topics he had been working on earlier in the year and completed review problems on factoring cubic functions, using synthetic division, the quadratic formula, and graphing hyperbolas. He was able to catch on to these topics after reviewing them. I think he has also grown more confident in his math skills over the course of our sessions."
"We finished reviewing for the student's final by covering all of the material on her review packet for the exam. The student did great!"
