"I specifically covered a wide range of math concepts with the student. This included exactly what slope is (rise/run) and it's relation to (y2-y1)/(x2-x1). I feel like a lot of the times students memorize formulas but do not acknowledge where it is from. For this reason, I have taught her the concepts behind the equations, including for lines (y=mx+b) and for the volumes of cylinders and cones. She is an eager learner and I am grateful for that. I noted progress in her geometry by a lot. As this is our last session, I did not send her any work but the screenshots."
"We covered the reading portions of the assessment exam. The student had a great attitude and was very cooperative with any advice and such that was provided. The student did fairly well on all tests that we took. I did include a few strategies and study skills in this session, such as process of elimination and what to do if you have no idea what some of the words mean in a vocabulary test. overall the student got at least 70% on all tests taken today."
"Today the student and I worked on the Verbal section for the first time. He did a great job on the 3 tests we took. We learned a few tips and tricks to make the Verbal section a little easier and I think with more vocab words he'll be fine. We closed with a math test and a reading test. He performed well on the math test and we went over some concepts that he needed to refresh. Homework is to do a full length practice test whenever he gets a chance."
