Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session began with a review of the homework on circles. We then started to work on basic absolute value and inequality problems. I will continue with this chapter next session. We then started to work on exponents and roots. I will assign online problems for this as well as problems assigned from the book. The student did great!"
"For our first session, I asked the student about her goals for the test. She hasn't signed up for the test yet, but will likely take it in September, and we agreed on weekly sessions for the time being. She does not have a goal score, but wants to do as well as possible. We covered the introduction to the test, and then went over the math Arithmetic section in the test prep book. She seemed very comfortable with Algebra, but needs more practice on math fundamentals such as fractions, percentages, etc. For now, she would like to review the math on her own, and bring in questions to me. For our next class, we plan on working through reading comprehension questions together."
"Today, we worked through the answers on the student's homework, and then began our module on Geometry. We focused on angles and variation: obtuse, acute, supplementary, vertical, and lines (parallel, perpendicular). Then we moved to triangles, the Pythagorean Theorem, and triples, and then special triangles."
