Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed exponential functions and logarithmic functions, as well as transformations and translations of each."
"We worked on chapter 14 on loci. The student initially had questions, but caught on by the end. We were able to look at the next section before it is taught tomorrow in class."
"The student's class has begun a chapter on circles today. We talked through the four sections they've learned and worked through all problems from the first three. She found the material much easier after we went through it and talked about the standard problem format she'll see. The problem solving techniques and the sheer number of ideas covered make the material seem more confusing than it actually is! We also talked again about her thoroughly memorizing the families of right triangles due to their repetitive appearance in these problems."
"This was for 2 sessions. Both focused on parallelograms. The first consisted of figuring out basic properties of parallelograms and how to define what constitutes one. In the second, we focused on proofs and theorems."
"I assisted the student with his algebra II review, which consisted of factoring polynomials, the binomial theorem, quadratics, and higher degree polynomials. He needed a little refresher on how to do some of the problems, but after I reminded him, he did a great job!"
"Today we covered rhombuses - congruent sides, diagonals are perpendicular bisectors, opposite angles are congruent, consecutive angles are supplementary. We solved problems with these theorems. We also did some extra credit problems."
