Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered the reading, verbal, and math sections of the ISEE lower level. The student scored about a 75 percent on the math section we covered and a high 90 percent on the verbal section. We will focus on improving her score in reading comprehension going forward."
"The student and I started this session with some vocabulary work. I read words and definitions and she transcribed them to her note cards. We did a total of fifteen words. The remainder of our session was devoted to lower level mathematics and we completed example problems that covered a wide-range of fundamental skills, including changing improper fractions to mixed numbers, changing mixed numbers to improper fractions, adding/subtracting fractions, multiplying/dividing fractions, and decimals. At this point, she has shown a solid knowledge of the fundamental math skills required of the ISEE. We will devote the rest of our time to test-taking tactics and strategies for reading comprehension and verbal reasoning."
"We began the session by reviewing the essay the student during our last session and that he completed at home. Overall, he is able to include good descriptive details and has creative ideas. We then moved on to some practice Quantitative Reasoning exam problems. Although he struggled a bit with one of the sample problems, he did well with the remaining problems we went through."
