Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"During this session, we covered specific problems with the cardiovascular system. We looked at the innervation and the conduction units of the heart. Extra practice will be to complete the remainder of the questions and send them to me to proofread."
"We covered one chapter on bones and skeletal tissues and just started the second one on axial skeleton. We reviewed some cellular histology from last time. The student has difficulty identifying what the cell type is by looking at pictures of slides from the lab. I used repetition and gave clinical examples for the skeletal lecture to help him understand the topic better. On the first quiz, he received a 32/40. He said that what he and I covered (which was all the slides), he did well on, but some of the questions tested were taken directly from the book. Although he seemed fine with the score, I am aiming for a higher grade on the next quiz."
"We reviewed the eye, ear and brain for the student's lab exam. She practiced by identifying structures on photos of the lab models, and reviewing the function of some of the parts. We also briefly went over structures in the endocrine system. She was most worried about questions related to endocrine histology, because the tissues are harder to identify under a microscope. However, she said she felt confident with the other material on the exam, and I think she'll do great!"
