Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I caught up on his in-class math that we had been ignoring to prepare for the assessment. We reviewed how to solve for several parts of a quadratic equation and looked at some word problems using quadratics from Physics."
"We discussed vocabulary she needed to know, how to add and subtract polynomials, and multiplication of polynomials. We then went over how to solve quadratic equations and finally factoring."
"We reviewed solving for x in quadratic equations. The student can now successfully solve for x using the quadratic formula."
"We went ahead into the new unit. Most of it so far seems pretty familiar to the student, and she's doing well. My hope is that we can finish the unit by the end of the week, but that might be a little too ambitious. She does start school this week, and with that, I imagine, comes a whole new host of responsibilities."
"We continued practicing properties of functions: domain, range, and end behavior. We also looked at solving for variables and identifying restrictions on solutions of an equation. The student seemed to get better as the session went on. She was unsure with how to identify restrictions, but after a good lesson on them, she seemed to have a good grasp on how to identify them in a problem. This was in preparation for her quiz tomorrow, so hopefully everything will go well."
"Today we worked on problems with polynomials: finding the degree, factoring, etc. The student is working very diligently to make sure he is getting a head start on the material. His hard work will certainly pay off when exam time comes around!"
