Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student has a makeup exam this week, so we reviewed the past exam and the topics covered. These included u-substitution integration, derivatives of exponential functions, implicit differentiation, differential equations, and volumes of solids. He feels more comfortable with the topics now that we have reviewed them. We also went over some practice multiple choice questions in preparation for the AP Exam."
"We focused on selected integration problems in AP calculus AB: U substitution, log integrands, and rational integrands."
"We covered finding tangent and normal lines to functions, position, velocity, and acceleration problems and derivatives. Since we've been going over some past papers the lessons have been covering a wide range of materials to fill in missing gaps. The student has a positive attitude. I've left the student with several worksheets to practice that will help her solidify what we covered in our session today."
"The concepts that we covered specifically were logarithmic properties, growth and decay populations, compounding interest problems, systems of equations, graphs of exponents, graphs of square roots, and quadratic equations. The student's attitude toward the material reviewed was engaged and participatory. The strategies included were to learn the logarithmic properties and formulas to manipulate equations. Wins from this session are that the student is getting a little bit more comfortable with logarithmic properties and learning the graphs better."
"We went over the student's science fair project. We covered the scientific process. He didn't struggle with many problems and seems to be doing fairly well in science. He could get better at sticking to the problem at hand, but this is something that we are working on. I left him with a scheduling sheet that I wanted him to look over and add to if needed."
"The student and I continued reviewing for her final exam. We did more algebra quizzes on quadratics and exponential functions. She did well, but definitely needed the review on these topics."
