Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over on how to solve a system of equations by graphing today. We are working on getting past his small problems, as it would save him from many mistakes in the future."
"Today the student and I worked on solving equations with missing variables in the exponents, logarithms, and radical simplification. He is very comfortable with logarithms and radical simplification. He has a test coming up this week, and I definitely believe he will be prepared. We were able to complete a practice quiz that the teacher sent with only one mistake."
"We worked on natural number sets, integer number sets, rational number sets, real number sets, arithmetic sequences and series, geometric sequences and series, graphing parabolas, properties of parabolas, and system of linear equations. The student and I also reviewed his returned test and executed test corrections."
"We covered derivatives, finding minimum and maximum points and tangents. The student has always shown a positive attitude towards the material being reviewed."
"Today, we did review for his AP exam. We did a practice exam from a book his mom purchased. He struggled a bit on derivatives particularly chain rule. We went over several problems step by step and he was able to do many problems involving chain rule such as implicit differentiation, or integrals. We also went over drawing functions. We will continue with the practice exam next time."
"The student had a handout about study design, and we talked about sampling versus population, and sample design. We used packets of sweetener to model different sorts of sample design, including cluster sampling and stratified sampling."
