Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over solving systems of equations using substitution and graphing this time. I demonstrated various ways by which he can accomplish these, and left him with a little "cheat sheet" for him to go over as a study practice. I gave him some high school level problems for practice, and he was able to do a decent portion of them."
"We covered regression lines, summation notation, and correlation coefficients. We also reviewed the regression line concept and its applicability."
"During this session, the student finished the last couple problems from his last speedback assignment. They involved solving equations by using the properties of logarithms. We finished these fairly quickly and then went on to complete an assignment for his Bible class. I checked over his work when he finished."
"For this session, the student and I focused on practicing radicals, quadratic functions as well as solving logarithmic functions. He continued to make progress with his calculations but still struggled a bit with his logarithmic calculations. I suggested to him to continue to practice in his spare time and even suggested some very helpful YouTube videos to assist him."
"We went over polynomials, factoring them and multiplying them in the way that the student's teacher has them do. She has a strong grasp in it, and just needs to practice to avoid calculation mistakes. I am glad to see her confidence level in math increasing; I can notice the progression she has made."
"The student was working on the sine and cosine graphs, with amplitudes, phase shifts, periods, vertical shifts, and reflections. She did well with these graphs. She also needed to find equations of the graphs, as a function of sine and as a function of cosine. These can be a bit confusing, and after several examples, she had a good understanding."
