Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"In this session, we discussed a review sheet on the verb "ser" for the student's upcoming quiz. After this, we did a few more exercises for practice. Also, we continued on a regular tutoring session on this new chapter on "sports." I think he is prepared for his quiz; he had no trouble with the practice work we did. Lastly we practiced reading and worked pronunciation. He did very well."
"We studied AR ER IR regular verbs, present and preterite. The present tense seemed a review, but doing all preterite verbs at once was a bit much. The student has a high level of intrinsic motivation, and can handle homework with relish. I left two homework pages with him today, reviewing estar/ser (discussed Thursday) and regular preterite verbs. Some things were received emphatically, others were completely new. He WILL ask questions if he has them. We also went over the numbers 30-100 and watched a video on clothes and preterite tense."
"We spent the first part of the session reviewing the vocabulary section for the student's exam the next day. We also covered the grammar portions. He seems to have a good grasp of both the vocabulary section and grammar section of the test. He knows all the material. In the second half, we covered his English test and the novel "Of mice and men." Again, he understands the material and he is able to analyze the themes, and symbolism with some ease."
