"We spent a while talking about her approach to the essays this meeting. She wants to work on organizing her thoughts efficiently. I suggested taking some time to make quick outlines before starting to write, so she will try that for the new few essays and see if it helps. She had finished the algebra review and felt like she had remembered a lot of the material on her own, which was encouraging. The same held true for geometry, so we started on the data interpretation review section together. The goal is to have all the general review completed in the next week and half so that she can start working with actual practice problems from the official GRE book."
"This was our first session. I began with a diagnostic exam of the student's math abilities. She is going to be quite fine, as she has an excellent math foundation. Most of our work will be "reminding" her of small things that she hasn't had for some time. I assigned her the arithmetic, algebra, primes / factoring, and circles chapters in her prep book. We also did some sentence completion questions. I assigned 1-30 of these in the prep book as well."
"The student and I spent today's session reviewing square roots. I showed her the general square root formulas and then walked her through a variety of different problems until she felt comfortable with the concepts. We also spent some time reviewing geometry formulas and practice problems, particularly those concerning circles. For homework tonight, she is going to spend more time looking at geometry practice problems, and we'll begin our session tomorrow by discussing the problems. It was a pleasure working with her, and I'm looking forward to our session tomorrow."
