Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student shared that she had made a 100 on a quiz. Great news. We worked with changing decimals to fractions and vice versa. We also worked with writing rational numbers as fractions, ordering numbers from least to greatest, and writing a repeating decimal as a fraction using an algorithm. She catches on quickly and enjoyed the process."
"The student worked on current homework during this session which is still functions. She needed some help on working her graphing calculator when finding specific points on a graph. She seems so much more confident in how and what she works on now. Good job!"
"The student did her homework. We also went further in math by starting the division chapter. She did really well and completely understood the concept."
"Student A and I continued our work from last Sunday, when we started going through the beginning of his math textbook. We worked on long division, and I think he has it down now, and I left him two problems to work on his own. We then started working with fractions, which he needs some reinforcement on. Student B worked on his homework assignment, which was on sequences. He seems to have a good understanding of this. He had a test today on fractions, which he said was easy. We then reviewed some of the more difficult fraction problems in his textbook, and he seemed to struggle with them, which tells me he may not be as comfortable with it as he says he is. We will continue working on this in our next session."
"We discussed what the student is currently learning in class which is using the first and second derivatives to determine the behavior of a function. She had many questions about this in the beginning but once we did a few examples she seemed to be catching on. We also went over a few questions she had about a derivative review sheet she was working on. She is still having trouble applying chain rule and often doesn't see how to start a particular problem so we went over alternative ways to work through it that might be helpful for her."
"We touched a little bit on exterior angles but spent most of the time on chemistry and balancing equations. The student struggled with it for a little bit but then understood the concepts after a few more examples."
