Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I just had our final session. We went over drills and then reviewed writing strategies for both types of prompts. The student has improved greatly on her math sections, and is doing reasonably well on her reading comprehension. I know she will do great on the exam!"
"For the first half, we covered unusual forms of quantitative reasoning problems commonly seen on the assessment ("odd symbol" function problems, sequence problems, combinations & permutations, factorials, and "timesuck" calculation problems). For the second half, we discussed the format and strategies of the two essay prompts, covering the issue essay, and beginning to cover the argument essay-especially how to spot assumptions and missing inferences. Both students were asked to write practice essays for the next session."
"Today we reviewed the student's questions on algebra and word problems, and reviewed geometry concepts. For next time, the student will complete practice questions #10-14 in the geometry section of the pdf, and read through the data analysis section (especially probability, permutations and combinations). Next week, we will complete the data analysis section so we can start doing timed practice math sections, and reviewing the algebra."
