Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We did some more graphing work before doing a complete review session dealing with signed numbers - adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing of whole numbers, fractions, and mixed numbers."
"We worked on finding the inverse of relations and functions, noting the differences between linear and quadratic equations. We also looked at Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis, as his English class read that in class Monday."
"The session with the student was overall positive. He was focused on preparing for a test on linear equations, functions, absolute value, and introductory materials in identifying polynomial functions."
"The student and I reviewed all topics of calculus covered this quarter and preparation for her final later today. She had a strong grasp of general concepts, but needed some refresher on more of the specific processes. Some topics covered more than others involved limits and solving for the area under the curve. She should do well on her exam as long as she takes her time and checks for work."
"Today, we worked out most of the review problems for the student's test tomorrow. We reviewed 1st and 2nd derivative test and L'Hopital's Rule. The student did very well in the last topic. Overall, he knows the concepts very well!"
"Today we had fun with partial fractions expansions. The student seems to be getting pretty comfortable with partial fractions; on Sunday we can check back in and see what our final answers were for the last problem we were working on."
