"We did a reading assessment, spelling, math homework, practiced reading aloud, and reading with fluency. Future sessions will continue to focus on reading fluency and comprehension."
"Great session with the student. She wanted to take notes as we were reading, which helped a lot with her level of concentration and detail recall."
"In today's session, we worked on reading and math. The student started the session by reading the book "Katy Duck: Flower Girl." Overall, she did a very nice job reading the story. Several pages were read flawlessly, and she was able to sound out almost all of the words she struggled with on her own, with prompting. After reading, we did some practice with words with "ee," "ie" and "ea," in which she read sentences that had a blank in which she had to figure out the missing word (with the long "e" sound) and how to correctly spell the word (with one of the above vowel teams). She got all but one sentence/question correct quickly on the first try. After studying reading, she practiced math by first going through some of her addition flash cards. She initially struggled with solving addition problems by counting on (instead she would try to draw a picture or guess), but once I showed her how to do it, she was able to do this very well and solved almost all of the problems correctly. We then practiced two-digit addition problems, as well as addition and subtraction word problems. She did well with both of these activities, though struggled with choosing the correct operation (ex. struggled with deciding whether the question is telling her to add or subtract)."
