Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student wanted to continue work on an assignment on "Roman Daily Life," and changed her topic from domestic life to slavery. We researched the topic and the student made notes for the draft she was to write for our next session; she is to print copies for review and mark-up."
"The student received a 97% on his Spanish test last week as well as a 115% on a science test. He did not yet get a grade on his English discussion which we had worked on together in the previous session. He said that when working on the discussion on his own that he was able to find examples within the material which I think is a great development. For the session today we worked on his second English exam. The exam is comprised of 4 essays on poetry from the romantic period. We developed thesis statements for 3 of the essays as was required. He appeared energetic and upbeat about not only the assignment, but also with his attitude in general. This led to a great session. He is going to write the essays and chose the quotes from the poetry that he will use for the essays. The exam is due on Friday so he has set a timeline for himself to complete it tomorrow morning and then edit his work on Friday before submitting it."
"The student has two tests tomorrow so we studied for both of those. First we drilled word problems in his math homework and continued with some extra practice. We then prepared for his History exam that covers the Andrew Jackson era. Our last order of business was further annotation of To Kill A Mockingbird. He seems to be doing a lot better with understanding the more complex underlying aspects of reading."
