Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I reviewed for his upcoming test. A range of topics were covered, including exponential graphs, mean of data sets, area/surface area of circles and spheres, similar triangles, and trig functions."
"We delved into circle concepts in geometry, like tangents, secants, and inscribed angles. The student is currently learning it in class and should get better with the concepts with additional review."
"We went over her review for her Geometry test that is in two weeks. It was a good session and she showed much improvement."
"We reviewed the student's quiz today. We reviewed all the math portion and made flashcards for the vocabulary. While going over the vocabulary, I had her give me the definition in her own words and draw an example. Then we made all these definitions and pictures into flashcards. She left feeling confident. One problem was the most difficult for her to understand, so I created two similar problems for review."
"In this session the homework began with the first section of chapter 8, which focuses on working with the proportional relationship between two shapes that are similar, meaning that they are the same shape but different sizes. The student did a good job setting up the proper proportional relationships, solving, and simplifying them. She also did a good job when the problems started to incorporate algebra. She finished the homework for her Monday class and started on the assignment for the Wednesday class."
"We went through the targets list for unit seven (mostly definitions of theorems and such). We then went through a few of the student's last homework assignments, discussing the problems that she struggled with."
