"Today we continued practicing the Spanish alphabet with emphasis on pronunciation and also went over definite articles. The student has a tendency to use English pronunciation rules for Spanish words, which is a very common mistake for beginners. I explained to her some ways to break those habits and will continue working with her on that. She has a great attitude about learning the language and is willing to make the effort. I instructed her to continue practicing the alphabet and review the material we covered about definite articles."
"During this session I had the student continue to practice the subjunctive. She was able to remember most of the conjugation endings, but had a little difficulty with the irregular verbs. By the end of the session though, she had a better understanding of how to conjugate these verbs. I also spent a little time further explaining when to use the subjunctive. For homework, I asked the student to write 10 sentences using the subjunctive."
"We reviewed the rules for the gerund of -ir stem-changing verbs. We went over the differences between direct and indirect object pronouns, practice examples with conjugated verbs, verbs in infinitive and gerunds. We reviewed the verb gustar and I gave the student three worksheets as homework."
