Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student explained his recent experience obtaining a driver's license and we discussed related topics. We also watched and discussed two Ted talks (consumerism and social media)."
"The student and I conversed mainly about her older daughter's education. She spoke in great detail about the educational system. She was able to compare and contrast the educational system she is most familiar with and the United States educational system as she is becoming more familiar with it. I gave her some additional information. We finished our conversation by discussing a little bit about the political systems of both countries. I left her with some notes with new vocabulary and expressions."
"We read a short article with academic content, and the student answered comprehension questions about it. This article was about handwriting analysis and what it can say about personality, so this lead into looking at common personality adjectives and discussing characteristics of different people. I then had him write a short essay answering the question, "Is deception ever justified?" He understands effective essay organization. We'll probably use this essay again so that he can work on editing/developing an essay and adding more content. His writing is clear. We finished up with a short grammar review of articles and phrasal verbs. His homework is a worksheet on more personality adjectives."
