Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked through 2 of the student's online homeworks over the normal and inverse normal distributions. He is getting a lot more confident with the problems."
"Today we went over the business cycle, the factors affecting the slope of aggregate supply and demand, and the factors that can shift the aggregate supply and demand curves. The student had a good grasp of the concepts and attitude toward the material. We talked about strategies for remembering these concepts. He didn't seem to have any problems with any of the material."
"I met with the student to review her updated resume. It looked much better, and was definitely much more effective. I made a few minor formatting adjustments and also provided some additional suggestions for improving her resume. I replied to her email with the new version. It's good to go. I will also be updating her profile and I have included the time it took me to do that in this session (2 hours). I will update her profile with her new resume and also spend most of the time formatting her current information so that it matches what is in her resume."
"This was my first session with the student. We talked about the structure of the business statistics course that he is in and reviewed his understanding of basic statistical concepts. He has a good grasp of the course material that has been covered up to date, and is doing fairly well in the class but would like to improve. The main topic we discussed on Wednesday was the T-distribution. We went over the formula and worked through several problems from his homework assignments. He was able to perform all of the calculations required but didn't understand some of the conceptual aspects of the T-distribution. However, by the end of the session Hunter was able to complete several problems entirely on his own."
"Today was our first session. The student is very easy to work with, he tells me exactly what he understands and what he does not. He has an exam next Monday and we spent the entire session reviewing his first exam. The majority of his next exam is content that was covered on the first exam. I advised him to read about the content in his text. I also gave him two additional online resources to aid in his studying."
"We covered the situation analysis and positioning statement. We also began working on the marketing plan, specifically figuring out the target consumer and the service experience for potential clients of the clinic."
"Went over assignment problems. Since all the problems were about hypothesis test, the only critical part was to determine which one to do: z or t. Generally, the student seems to understand the process. The steps will be clarified in the exam review session that is scheduled later."
"We worked on the student's homework assignment due Tuesday evening. This involved calculating probabilities and interpreting confidence intervals. We were able to complete the entire homework assignment. The session went well."
"We continued to review for the student's investments test that covered net asset value, purchase/selling price, return on investment, market order, stop-loss order, and short sale order."
