"Tonight, I provided the student support with her English and Math homework. For English, she had to answer questions about quotes from Shakespeare. For Math, she had to find percentages utilizing the formula she was taught in class, determine if there was an increase or decrease, and answer the question posed."
"An excellent session. We started off with some fraction work, but then got into helping the student memorize his times tables, specifically his 3's, 6's, and 9's, by his request. We worked hard and focused, and if he studies the way he worked in the session with me, he'll have them down in no time."
"We went over his history test review. I find that you learn so much when you actually teach so after I reviewed him, he tested me on the material. He knew the answers all along and that way it stuck when he was asking me the questions as well. It went very well."
"We covered the basics of probability, including definitions for independence, mutually exclusive, unions, intersections, and random variables. We went through many examples, emphasizing diagrams and formulas as a basis for problem solving."
"Today we reviewed a final review packet for the student's math class. It included matching graphs of hyperbolic functions, solving area equations with missing sides of the figure, solving equations that dealt with logs, and matching tables with functions. The student did very well. He asked questions when he was unsure, and I always think that is great. We spoke about methods for taking tests such as trial and error when you are unsure how to start to solve a question and starting with questions you find easy and know how to answer to get your brain thinking in math terms."
"We did more proportion problems. She focused on figuring out the cost of one unit of each merchandise and comparing the prices to find the best deal."
