Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We spent the session going over her homework. The topics focused on using ratios to solve area/circumference/arc length/measure of an arc of circles and on graphing points on a graph to solve for area of the shapes formed. Overall, the student did great. By the end of the session, she was able to completely finish the problems on her own."
"I taught the student some circle theorems today that she hasn't learned yet in class, in the spirit that we ought to skip ahead of her class."
"We reviewed order 2 polynomials, including finding roots, factoring, difference of squares, methods for drawing graphs, symmetry, and basic rate of change."
"We covered the topics the student was learning in class, which included finding areas of trapezoids and triangles, given limited information. She demonstrated the material well."
"The student and I reviewed factoring during our session. At the beginning of the session, she was confused; however, by the end of the session, she was successful in factoring trinomials and binomials."
"The student will have an exam on Thursday on the first half of Unit 8. We decided to go through the first half of the Target List. We practiced problems for: 1) Similar right triangles (given two parts find x), 2) Special right triangles (30-60-90, 45-45-90, Pythagorean triples), 3) Trig functions (given one side and angle, find side), 4) Inverse trig functions, and 5) Angle of elevation/depression word problems. She did well on everything except for number 5, but she hadn't actually learned it yet in class, so this was new to her. She caught on pretty quickly."
