Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"This session consisted of reviewing many quizzes and tests in the 12th grade English class. We will work on the persuasive essay on Monday."
"We began typing his English paper and also did his final English assessment. He got a 93% without help from me. Well done!"
"I helped Student 1 with social studies and English homework, and I worked with Student 2 on French class homework, vocabulary, and pronunciation."
"The student continued work on the end-of-semester project. During this session, He got about a third of the way through the main article."
"Using feedback from the instructor as a prompt, we explored questions of thesis construction and paragraph organization as she redrafts her persuasive essay. We revisited some of the organizational issues raised while working on her outline and considered alternate perspectives on the relative strength of arguments. She is deliberately and decisively injecting stronger argumentative language into her writing."
"Worked with the student on identifying themes in "To Kill A Mockingbird" chapters 13-18. Worked with the student on an assessment essay portion."
"The student continues to be an engaged, and hardworking student. Yesterday's session was primarily vocabulary studying for an assignment due Thursday. He had a homework assignment with 20 vocabulary words: we went over each one to define them, and I then had him write down the words and definitions on a separate sheet to help with memorization. He benefited from this, similar to how he learned from brainstorming his essay ideas in our first session. We also talked through the homework assignment (filling in sentences with the correct word), although I left the assignment itself for him to do on his own. Lastly, I tested him on the vocab words."
"I got an initial assessment on the student's vocabulary and reading comprehension. We talked about some of the materials in English and then created a plan to help him improve."
"We finished going over the first page of a Ray Bradbury-type story that the teacher will have the students continue with in class."
"Worked through several English/writing exercises, a science lecture on genetics question list, and the student did a history worksheet."
"We reviewed poetic elements for an upcoming test, reinforced vocabulary, and practiced recognizing poetic elements."
"Today the student and I reviewed "Macbeth" so that he could fully understand the story and themes. We also reviewed a bit of Algebra 2 in simplifying radicals and logarithms."
