Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Went over basics of circles, chords, segments, and their specifics (all of ch. 10.2). He ought to be quite ready for his exam tomorrow. We'll see how he does."
"The student and I studied for her geometry test tomorrow. We covered quite a few problems involving proportions and similarity. She did an excellent job!!"
"The student and I worked through a homework assignment. We did really well with volume of prisms (pyramids and cones). A few tough problems took some time to solve but he figured them out."
"For the beginning of this section, I helped the student with some proofs related to the angles and side measures of kites and trapezoids, and then made a few more problems to help solidify the ideas. After this, we went over several algebra problems that relied on facts about the diagonal lengths and angles of various quadrilaterals - squares, rectangles, rhombus, parallelograms, and kites."
"Today we reviewed triangle theorems and postulates in the context of a several proofs. We covered all of the practice problems in the student's handout. I also emailed him a good link to a list of the major theorems and postulates of high school geometry for his private review. Have a great evening!"
"Today the student and I covered material on finding the measures of angles inside polygons. Primarily his class is covering quadrilaterals. He only had one problem from his homework that was giving him trouble so we spent some time on setting it up. We followed it up by creating a few of our own practice problems (a great practice skill). Then I came up with a higher level question involving a hexagon. With a little guidance, he mastered this problem too. We moved onto parallelograms in the x-y plane, the most recent material. He clearly knew what to do and was able to teach me what to do. He is doing very well on this unit and I'm happy he is making progress. We ended the session early."
