Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing fractions, proportions, and interest. He had some difficulty with dividing fractions, but picked up the skill very quickly. We talked about double checking answers and making sure the answer is reasonable in the situation. Next time we meet, we will review assessment questions from last years 7th grade test."
"I went over multiple linear regression with the student, including discussing the method, computing regression coefficients, testing for a regression relationship, and determining if a variable is needed in a regression model. In addition, I discussed how to use SPSS to analyze a regression model."
"We continued to study and review concepts for her recent algebra two final. Our focus continues to be conic sections and some test taking strategies."
"The student completed her math homework, and I checked her answers. Then, I had her work on problems similar to those she is working on in her math class. Overall, this session was good and productive."
"We covered online homework that concerned mostly circles. We reviewed the standard form of a circle involving the center and the radius. The student was able to recognize the center and radius of a circle when it was given in standard form and also to accurately graph the circle on a coordinate plane. What was more challenging was taking a general equation and then converting it into standard form by completing the square and factoring. We worked several example problems for how to manipulate equations from general to standard form, and he seemed to have a good grasp after seeing some examples. He scored a 99 on the test that we prepared for last week."
"We worked on assessment exam test preparation that focused again on orders of operations. The student is very good at this concept."
