Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Today during our session we continued our work on factoring. . Regardless we got a lot of work done. The student still struggles with determining which factorization method to use on a problem, but once she does she gets it quite quickly. Some of the factorization we've gone over requires a bit of knowledge of exponent rules, so I want to spend some time on that during our next session."
"We worked ahead to cover trigonometric functions in right triangles, special triangles, degree measure, radians, arc length, and sector area. The student did well with the material. I suggested she practice problems in section 13.2 of the textbook."
"The student and I covered multiplying and dividing decimals. She seems to have the hardest time with division, but after we did a few practice problems together and I taught her to how line up the numbers to make it easier, she seemed to be having a much easier time with it. Overall the session was successful."
"Today we worked on solving area and perimeter questions, and then worked on test prep for the student's assessment test next week. He struggled through the quantitative reasoning questions that I found in an example, so we worked on some ways to process through those with drawings and other strategies. Overall the student seemed to stick with it and stay focused."
"The student and I worked a few practice problems. She did need a little more support with word problems and deciphering what she should do."
"The student and I had another productive session tonight! We worked on homework first, which consisted of fluency, sight words, math, and reading. She continued to read her Harry Potter book to me, and it is really cool to see her vocabulary growing with each time that she reads to me! I am excited to continue watching her confidence in reading grow!"
