Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"Completed 5-1 review for class. He did very well with the review, although he said it was due Friday. He does really well with assignments, and remembers most things that the teacher says about solving."
"We went over logs. What they are, how to solve them, what properties and rules they follow, and did some examples of how to use logs and their rules to solve for x. the student has a review sheet that she will now attempt and can come to me with questions. I will email her soon to ask how often she wants to meet and for how long per session. Today was mostly me trying to see how quickly I should go over topics with her and assessing her needs. She is able to keep up and understand things. It seems that her only issue is missing class and missing out on the topics taught. I am more than happy to help her with anything that confuses her during class."
"Today we worked with multiplying and dividing decimals. An example of one of our problems is 3.94 x 2= We used a timer to see how quickly the student could get through the pages. He is doing this to practice how quickly he could complete a test. He enjoyed the session and improved his skills."
"We began with a review session of material the student struggled with in our last meeting. This included mostly limits, asymptotes, and graphing of certain derivatives and second derivatives. We then moved on to review material that her professor had provided her with. These materials included decay problems, log problems, integrals, u substitution, and definite integrals. Lastly, we touched on finding area under the curve using various methods. We then talked about what we are going to do at the next session, which is essentially going to be review for her final."
"Today was the student's and my second of three sessions to help him review for his final exam. We covered u-substitution, the fundamental theorem of calculus, and optimization problems. On Friday, we will have our last session, and we plan to spend the majority of the time working on volumes of solids by rotation around the axes. He is doing well and continues to have a good attitude, and he is making great progress towards his goal of doing well on his final exam."
"We reviewed for the student's upcoming final exam. Today, we mostly covered integration, focusing mostly on u-substitution. He was struggling with knowing when to use substitution, but I helped him better understand."
