Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We worked on more trigonometric identities today, specifically simplifying identities. We also worked on some physics problems such as conservation of momentum. This was review to help the student be prepared for his exam on Thursday. He was picking up the concepts but still needs some more practice."
"During this session we went over composite functions and finding the domain and range. The student seemed to have a good grasp on the concepts. He was bit stomped at points with some the of the algebra but by the end of the session he was able to handle it. Overall this session went well!"
"We went through one final round of the practice final, isolating the last few topics that have been giving the student trouble. We worked on simplifying expressions using trig identities, finding the asymptotes of secant and co-secant functions, and solving trig equations using substitution."
"We went through her review sheet for her final, focusing on converting between rectangular and polar coordinates, and finding roots of complex numbers. She's gotten much better at graphing in polar coordinates."
"The student had a test the next day, so we went through every question in the review, so that he understood what he was doing and what he needed to know. It was a very long review however, I think he will do well in his class and I look forward to working with him again."
"We continued the preliminary work for the pre-Calculus text. I focused on radicals and various operations pertinent to them (as well as exponent rules that are pertinent). I assigned review problems. We then worked on some computer scripts, during which I showed (at the student's request) problems that can crop up because of global scope as well as how to do a script-injection attack."
