Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We covered imaginary numbers, and finding the vertex, the y-intercept, the x-intercepts. We used the quadratic formula, and checked his answers with the graphing calculator. In Chemistry we continued nomenclature, this time with transition and inner transition metals and polyatomic ions. The student is still making small mistakes because he forgets to change number signs or is going too fast. He is learning to slow down and check his answers."
"We worked on multiplication facts up to 3, and the student caught on quite quickly given that I introduced this to him the day before. Since he did extremely well, I introduced him to multiplication word problems."
"Today the student and I reviewed again for his chapter 15 test. We spent the most time on integration by parts, though we also did some work with definite integrals and finding the areas bounded by curves. Finally, we made a list of a few key points that he should know or watch out for as he takes his exam."
"During this session, the student and I reviewed the math work that we had completed up to this point. While we have covered a lot of material, the student has retained the vast majority of the information we have covered. We will do continued practice/review in our next sessions in preparation for his test."
"This was my first session with the student. He had a lot of practice problems to complete over Gas Laws. He performed calculations for Boyle's, Charles, Combined, and Ideal Gas Laws. He did a good job of organizing all of his givens and plugging them in correctly for each formula that he needed to use. "
