"We found a virtual chemistry lab for combustion of magnesium and worked on geometry dealing with conical equations, standard form, and general form."
"Today, the student and I covered friction, kinetic and static force, normal force and calculating resultant net vectors as well as went over homework problems."
"I have been very happy with the student's progress. She scored a 98% on her last test, which covered frequency, amplitude, waves, and pendulums. I looked over the test and it was a long, challenging exam. Her excellent performance is a good indicator that she is a better physics student overall, and most likely better than most of her class. This session, we focused on drawing ray diagrams. Her class is still studying optics and there is a test on Tuesday. We reviewed and practiced ray diagrams for converging and diverging lenses, both when the object is in front and behind the focal point. These ray diagrams are a little different than they are for mirrors because there are two focal points with lenses. We also did some practice problems on Snell's law and refraction, and she did great with those. We agreed that she just needed to practice the ray diagrams on her own while studying. Other than that, I am very pleased with her progress and overall performance."
