Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"We had a great session together! Our focus was on reviewing homework and preparing for an upcoming quiz and test. We worked through verifying trig identities. We also worked on trig functions with and without calculators. Some tough concepts, but great work!"
"We worked on the student's homework which consisted of logarithmic functions and expressions. She learned how to convert a logarithm to an exponential functions and vice versa and how to solve for variables using logarithms and exponential functions."
"We did a final review before the student's final math exam tomorrow. We worked on factoring, linear equation systems, finding slope equations through three points, solving system of inequalities word problems, and graphing parenting function with their transformation. The student has made great improvement since our first session, and is able to grasp and learn the material much quickly. She appears confident in her skills and I believe she will do well on her final tomorrow."
"Today we went over different applications of line equations, like point-slope and y-intercept, to solve parallel and perpendicular lines. Also, we practiced problems to find just the slope of some lines in the problems the student had in his study guide."
"The student and I started on her review for her final exam. This covered trig, Pythagorean theorem, and circles. The trickiest problems were finding the area of a polygon (dividing the shape into triangles and using the central angle to find missing sides), and finding the equation of a circle from endpoints (must use midpoint formula and distance formula). With a few hints the student was able to work these problems, but I would encourage her to do some more practice to make sure she's seeing the solutions on her own."
"We had a great session. We discussed the plan for the summer and then then started reviewing some concepts for Biology and Geometry. We focused on some chemistry topics for Biology and discussed the terminology in Geometry."
