Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"The student and I went over proofs, definitions like angle bisector, and the properties of equality. She needs to become more familiar with the definitions and the properties. She also has a wrist guard on her writing hand, so she is typing everything on a computer. She is taking a practice test on Saturday and has a Chemistry test on Monday."
"The student and I covered the problems in the sections she had reviewed over the last two days. We looked at quadratic functions, translations and shrinks/stretches for quadratic equations, writing equations from word problems, identifying functional relationships between data in a table, adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing with exponents, and finding slope based on graphs and functions. Progress was great! The student picked up the concepts relatively quickly. She will work on a practice test before our next session, and we will go over questions that she is having trouble with/doesn't understand/answers incorrectly."
"For this week, the student and I went over a review sheet for her Biology test on Friday. The topics of study were Cell Division, Genes and Heredity. The main focus was to help her understand the concepts that she had learned in class, as well as any questions that she found troubling."
"Today, the student and I studied for her assessment. The student had already begun to study, so we reviewed questions and practiced problems from the sections that were most difficult for her. The student seems to have a solid grasp of the topics and how they are integrated, and knows how to prioritize her studying after this session."
"The student went through her work sheets and went over some problems she was confused about. I made sure to ask her about what was her biggest struggle in algebra and geometry so I could be on the look out and help address it. We prepared her for her test on Tuesday. I told her to memorize some properties and be attentive to negative signs."
"The student worked through her homework assignment that covered questions related to monopolies and perfectly competitive firms. The material was rather complex but she showed a very encouraging grasp of the materials and was eager to understand the nuances of the theory to make sure she was very comfortable with any future questions that could come up. She initially struggled with the concepts of marginal cost = marginal revenue pricing, and how to figure out what price to look for in graphs that displayed this type of scenario. It was generally a very good session. We had previously discussed her exam grade so we did not take any time talking through that at this session. However, she has another exam in the next two weeks and we have scheduled a lengthy session this coming Friday to get her prepared and ready for that. All in all a really good session!"
