Recent Tutoring Session Reviews
"I met with the student today to continue reviewing for his exam. He had taken a couple of practice exams since we last met, so we went over those and I answered any questions that he had. We talked about how sine and cosine are similar and different, as well as their graphs."
"The student is preparing for his AP exam so we worked through half of a practice exam from his practice book. The problems covered all of the topics he has learned so far (differentiation, integration, etc.). The rest of the problems he is prepared to solve on his own."
"The student missed school yesterday, so today I caught her up on the lesson she missed, finding volumes of rotational solids by the disk/washer method. We worked through some examples of both vertical and horizontal rotations both on and off of the xy-axis to prepare her for each possibility before attacking the homework assignment. She said she understood my explanations, and in the portion of the assignment we completed before wrapping for the day, she seemed capable."
"The student and I spent the session reviewing for her exam this week. We reviewed how to find the area between two curves. We did problems that required finding the volume when curves are rotated over the x- or y-axis. We also reviewed the shell method for finding volume. She has been doing very well on the quizzes on these topics and is prepared for the exam."
"We reviewed derivatives and integrals for the student's upcoming exam. She recently got a 10/10 and 9/10 on her most recent quizzes in math. She has homework to review before our next session tomorrow."
"During this session, pre-calculus concepts were reviewed using worksheets given in class, in preparation for the next day's quiz."
